Goroawase
Our brand name Newmarket 875 represents both the home of horse-racing and Hanako. Using Goroawase, Japanese wordplay, 875 actually makes up Hanako's name.
History
Born in 1976, in Saitama Japan, Hanako has been involved with horses throughout her childhood. However, her passion truly began at the age of 14 when she got into showjumping at a riding club.
Education
She studied veterinary at the Royal Veterinary College for 1 year before transferring to BSC Equine Science at the University of West England.
Career
Hanako moved back to Japan to seek a role with horses and her English language skills. She joined the The Japan Association for International Horse Racing and from there ended up with jobs in horse racing around the world.
Today
Here is Hanako's first trip to Newmarket, where she has her two big loves. She fell in love with the town, which is the source of her inspiration, and she fell in love with her husband, Roger, the owner and horse trainer of Varian Stables.
