Founded by Hanako Sonobe Varian, the brand brings the character of this remarkable Suffolk town into contemporary life through clothing, accessories and objects made with purpose, quality and meaning.

There are few places in the world where horseracing is so deeply woven into everyday life as Newmarket.
Each morning, thousands of racehorses move across the Heath and dedicated training grounds. Trainers, riders, farriers, saddlers, veterinarians, breeders and stable staff begin their working day alongside the wider community of the town.
Here, racing is not simply something that happens on a racecourse, it is part of the very fabric of the town.
It's in the sound of hooves, the early morning mist above the gallops, the movement of horses through the town and the quiet expertise of the people who care for them.
For more than four centuries, Newmarket has been at the heart of British racing. Today, its influence reaches far beyond Suffolk.

Hanako Sonobe Varian's relationship with horses began in Japan when she was fifteen years old.
Fascinated by their beauty, intelligence and the unique trust that develops between horse and human, she decided to move to the United Kingdom to study Equine Science and pursue a life in the racing world.
Over more than three decades, Hanako has gained experience across the international thoroughbred industry, working and travelling in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Australia and Dubai.
Her career has taken her behind the scenes of the sport, into training yards, breeding operations and racing communities around the world, giving her a unique perspective on horseracing as both a global sport and a deeply rooted culture.
She has witnessed the excellence of elite competition and breeding, but also the dedication, knowledge and quiet skill of the people whose daily work makes the industry possible.
Today, Hanako lives in Newmarket with her husband, leading racehorse trainer Roger Varian, and their family.

Founded in 2023, Newmarket 875 was created to share the distinctive character of Newmarket with a wider audience.
Hanako wanted to create something that expressed the spirit of British racing without being confined to the racecourse.
The result is a contemporary lifestyle brand inspired by the world around the thoroughbred, its colours, materials, craftsmanship and traditions.
Clothing, accessories and objects are designed to be part of everyday life while retaining a genuine connection to Newmarket.
The brand is rooted in heritage, but it is not nostalgic.
